Celebrating Freedom: The U.S. Army, Whiskey Rations, and a 250th Anniversary Bourbon Worth Toasting
Long before the fireworks and backyard cookouts, Independence Day started with a fight for freedom, and the United States Army was right at the heart of it. On June 14, 1775, the Continental Congress officially formed the Army, more than a year before the Declaration of Independence was signed. Bottled at 111.1 proof, this limited release pays tribute to Veterans Day (11/11) and the long-standing bond between American whiskey and the men and women who serve.
Green River is one of Kentucky’s oldest and most respected distilleries, with roots going back to the 1800s. This partnership assists with Army morale, welfare, and recreation programs.
