During my bourbon travels, I have met some powerful and knowledgeable women who enjoy bourbon, appreciate its history, and actively participate in furthering their understanding of America’s Native Spirit.

Recently, I had the pleasure to meet members of the Michigan Chapter of the Bourbon Women Association, including their chapter president, Carol. For someone not in the bourbon industry, Carol has already experienced a treasure trove of bourbon experiences.

The following is a brief excerpt from one of their informational handouts.

This organization, founded by Master Taster Peggy Noe Stevens, is about bourbon and the women who drink it, make it, and blend it. It’s an independent forum bringing women from all walks of life together to learn and have fun in an inclusive environment. It also offers excellent opportunities to enjoy:

           Tastings and education sessions

           Premium events around the country

Meeting and networking with industry insiders

It is easy to join: Go to Bourbonwomen.org and select the Join Us button. Select Michigan for the chapter you are joining, and you will become a member of the national Bourbon Women Association along with the Michigan Branch.

Note: There is an annual membership fee to join, but this is an excellent opportunity to network with like-minded women and learn of upcoming bourbon experiences. During the holiday season, this is a unique gift for anyone interested in bourbon.
